Medium to full-bodied, pure, and classic, it will be at its peak between 2006-2016 88-90 Robert Parker Chƒteau Lanessan, which has been in the same family since 1793, commands a 264-hectare estate divided into 130 ha of woods, 49 ha of meadows, 45 ha arable land and 40 ha of vines. The vineyard is situated on gravelly hills where the soil is composed of quarternary gravel called ?Garonne gravel? over a subsoil of broken limestone. It is planted to premium grape varieties: 75% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 4% Petit-Verdot and 1% Cabernet franc. Winemaking is traditional (more than 20 days vatting) and the wine is being sought more and more every day for its consistently remarkable quality.
